According to Open Signal’s State of Mobile Network report, T-Mobile has inched ahead of Verizon in terms of LTE speed tests. But Verizon still ranked the highest in LTE availability scores.
T-Mobile averages 16.3 Mbps in the summer download tests and Verizon averaged 15.9 Mbps. AT&T and Sprint couldn’t average greater than 13 Mbps.
Verizon network availability allowed testers to make LTE connection 86% of the time. T-Mobile went way ahead of AT&T and Sprint as their network allowed LTE signal 83% of the time. AT&T was at 80% availability.
In 3G speeds, AT&T and T-Mobile’s networks won over Verizon and Sprint. T-Mobile has the fastest 3G download speeds with 4.6 Mbps. Sprint and Verizon only averaged speeds at 1 Mbps on 3G connections.
